Great setting in a lively area close to museums and other sites. Quaint and quirky Amsterdam.- Very-very nice staff offering extra care.- Spotlessly clean and trendy rooms with feather pillows.

It's like you've come to see your old friends. It's all very chambery, homemade, only six rooms. At reception there is a friendly, caring, active hostess and a stern, taciturn owner. Reception is a bar with the richest and most picturesque choice, as we were told, of local (but, in my opinion, not only local) alcoholic drinks. By the way, when we returned to the hotel in the evening, we found that it was a very popular bar - all the seats at the counter and three available tables were occupied. The interiors are inside, really fantastic. Someone who was not indifferent put their talents here - each thing of the interior is something special, with fiction. The room was big, overlooking the canal. It's a great location. Lots of things to see in Amsterdam next door. The museum square is about 30 minutes on foot. Convenient underground parking - 15 minutes on foot. The Red Lantern Quarter is a nearby parallel street, but you don't have to worry: on the canal bank, where the hotel is located, it was lively but quiet. With Amsterdam's prices in mind, it's a great place. We were ready to stay in the hotel for another day - but everything was already occupied!
It's an old house. steep, narrow, almost spiral staircases. Definitely not for the elderly. the owners basically do not let a guest carry their luggage upstairs by himself - there is a special person, he lifts it up and down. Breakfast is not rich, it's nicely organized... view of the canal was good... on the embankment in early May there was a repair... bad luck. With parking problem (as it seems everywhere in the center) even just unload luggage - accidents and drive in part on the sidewalk - traffic is active, street is narrow... We have to take into account that from the street the entrance looks like an inconspicuous door with a small hotel sign next to it - we had to look for... you won't find it in the car for sure...

The hotel was an excellent base for enjoying an incredibly beautiful area, adjacent to all the culture, and a canal. The staff were all attentive.- The breakfast was savoury with bacon, eggs to order, fresh bread.Rewritten: The hotel served as a perfect starting point to explore the stunning surroundings, situated near cultural attractions and a beautiful canal. The staff were very attentive, and the breakfast was delicious with options like bacon, made-to-order eggs, and fresh bread.

This is one of these perfect places : not totally perfect of course, but the kind of place where you feel like at home. The rooms are big enough (for Amsterdam) with a very comfortable big bed. Efficient bathroom. Very central location, and if you choose a room with a garden view (in fact a nice courtyard), it is perfectly quiet. Very good breakfast. And on top of that, the most helpful hosts I have met. Rachel is a diamond.

The best feature of this accommodation was Rachel's warm welcome and her readiness to help you. Breakfast was lovely. We choose this hotel for it's location and were not disappointed.
Take the reviews about the step stair in this establishment seriously. We were on the top floor up 3 ladder like stairs, it takes a bit of getting used to. There is no area to sit and relax at the end of the day. The only common area is the breakfast room/bar.

LOCATION and very helpful and friendly owners
Absolutly nothing, it was perfect, apart from the steep dutch stairs to our lovely room.

We loved that the wi-fi and everything in the minibar was included. Pepijn and Rachel were amazing - welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was cooked to order and fabulous. The room was large enough and very comfortable, and the location couldn't be more central for everything in Amsterdam.
The stairs might put off an older or disabled guest, but for us it was no problem, especially as Pepijn carried our bags up on arrival!

The couple managing the hotel were outstanding. Very friendly, helpful and hospitable. We felt totally at home and yet were in a hotel. The room was absolutely beautiful and super quiet and much like a romantic hideaway. Very fashionably decorated all the way around. Location was nothing short of perfect!
